Scripture:
Romans 8:12-17; Isaiah 6:1-8Theme:
Most celebrations in the church year are focused around either a specific event, while other celebrations are centered around the life of the people in the church. This Sunday is the unusual as it is about a doctrine … the idea of the Trinity. Join us as we explore the “One God in Three Persons” and see what implications this may have in our lives … hopefully leading us to affirm God’s persistent and never-ending love in our lives.

Reflections:
Trinity Sunday
Introit: Old and new metaphors are used to express faith in the Triune God, addressed as Source, Word, and Spirit. We sing the fourth verse, which addresses all three.
Opening Hymn: What else would open with on Trinity Sunday, aside from “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!”. The text is based mostly on Revelation 4:2-11, which the Anglican Bishop author would have know as an appointed Trinity Sunday reading.
Transition Hymn: For the month of May, we will sing “We Give Thanks unto You” as our Transition Hymn.
Special Music: I will be singing a song titled “Teach Me Thy Song, O Lord”, written by Craig Courtney.
Responsive Hymn: A beloved hymn, selected by Preston as response to the sermon, “Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound”.
Sending Hymn: The classic choice to accompany our scripture reading from Isaiah 6:1-8, “I, the Lord of Sea and Sky” (Here I Am, Lord),
Benediction: Throughout the Easter season, we will sing the first verse of “Christ Is Alive!” as our benediction.
