Happy Mother’s Day, this week we will have some special liturgy and, of course, the Mother’s Day Bake Sale. Bring something yummy to be sold, and/or buy something yummy to bring home. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
Sermon Notes
This week we move from stories about Paul, to one of Paul’s writings. A few weeks ago, we heard about Paul getting in trouble for casting a spirit out of a girl, and going to prison. It is to that city of Philippi, where Paul and Silas started a church in Lydia’s house, that he writes the letter to the Philippians. Paul is writing to his friends while under house-arrest in Rome many years later.
Questions to Consider
– What hopes have you had for your child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or other special child; how have those hopes been confirmed or shifted over time?
– How does God watch over us like a mother?
– Who are the important people in your life who have loved you into being?
